Description
Here we have a rare Goodwin Granger Company 8-1/2 foot Victory with Chromed Reel Seat made during the World War II era when nickel silver was unavailable for making his signature reel seat. This one is the same uplocking design, just in chromed brass. Seat is marked:PAT APR 12 1938
PAT NO 2114107
MADE BY
GOODWIN GRANGER COMPANY
DENVER
While later Victory models from the Wright McGill production era are very common, older ones like this are not as they were lower priced rods and tended to be abused. Rods made with this reel seat are rarer still, and this one has been restored more for looking at than for fishing. Reel seat nut has stripped (a product of the soft brass, it can be fixed) and there is only one tip which is short as shown. Bag is not original.
