Description
A very well preserved leather jacket more than likely worn by a Luftwaffe pilot. After the liberation, the jacket was stripped of rank marks, because of the cut off shoulder boards worn by a civilian. That happened with a lot of confiscated clothes. The shoulderboards were sewn in and therefore could not be easily removed, like slide on shoulderboards.
All zippers work perfectly and are marked as follows: the main zipper is from Zipp and is on the back of the puller D.R.P. stamped.
All pocket and sleeve zippers are marked: Zipp D.R.P. Nurnberg. The minimal traces show that there were shouldeboard buttons on the shoulders. The leather is sturdy but supple. The jacket is therefore easy to wear.
Apart from the very small sewing holes, the leather is undamaged. It can be brought back to its original state by adding buttons and shoulderboards, or by removing the remnants of the sewn-in shoulboards and closing the seams.
In short: a very unique jacket that is almost impossible to find. Especially in this condition.
